Our leader
Our company is led by Dennis Reynolds, who is currently the dean of the University of Houston Conrad N. Hilton College. Dr. Reynolds was previously a professor and director of the Wine Business Management program at Washington State University. He continues his research while maintaining his position as dean. Areas of research
Dr. Reynolds’s research focuses on pathways leading to enhanced managerial efficiency and effectiveness, especially in service organizations, through the application of operations-management tools and techniques. His work, which has captured numerous Academy of Management and other awards, has been published in such journals as Academy of Management Learning and Education, Advanced Management Journal, Cornell Hospitality Quarterly, Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Research, and International Journal of Hospitality Management.
His books include Introduction to the Hospitality Industry, 11th edition (co-authors: Barrows, C. and Rahman, I.; Wiley, 2021), Foodservice Management Fundamentals (co-author: McClusky, K.; Wiley, 2013), Human Resources in the Foodservice Industry: Organizational Behavior Management Approaches (co-author: Namasivayam, K.; Haworth Press, 2006), and On-Site Foodservice Management: A Best Practices Approach (Wiley, 2003).
He is also the creator of a restaurant simulation titled Restaurateur®; this "game" utilizes the allure of restaurant ownership to foster students’ entrepreneurial interests by demonstrating how a restaurant concept can become a viable business venture.
